Shinoda Mariko’s final stage on Music Station

Shinoda Mariko(27) appeared with the rest of AKB48 on Music Station to present her final stage today. It was a tearful farewell for the girl and fellow first generation members, who have been together for as long as 8 years. As a final gift, AkiP wrote a song called “Namida no Sei Jya Nai”, which Mariko sang as the center surrounded by her members. As Mariko will no longer pursue a singing career after her graduation, this is probably the last we’ll see of her on stage. Thank you Shinoda Mariko for all your hard work all these years!

Lyrics Translation:

What should i talk about?
The road I’ve taken hasn’t been short.
It wasn’t all filled with happy memories, there were also lots of sad memories.
But when i think about them, they were all shining memories.

The water in my eyes are not tears,
It’s just the sparkles from the times of the past.
I have no regrets in the route i’ve taken up till today, i can say that to the skies.

If you get lost someday, if you lost your love someday,
Call everyone’s name in a loud voice and we’ll come and find you wherever you are.

The water in my eyes are not tears,
It’s just the sparkles from the times of the past.
I will forgive things which are going to disappear. (?)
I can finally express myself frankly, and i’m gonna say “Thank You” now.
