What do you think about the new AKB song ???

I found it boring on first play, but after listening it to a few more times its becoming rather catchy. The “Paiyayaya” part is love! They need to work on their expressions though, this song is so much fun if they can make a clown face or something.

      What about you?

this song is too similar to KFC even Labrador Retriever ( slow tempo & choreo ) so it is like ahhhh again this kind of song …….. I am okay with the song ( and I am glad the outfit is different from the pink and blue one ) but sure is not gonna be one of my favorites.

Forgive me my strong language but KNP is a shitty song, the worst of all election singles by far. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think it’s intended for the upcoming or future girls.
If this becomes Mayuyu’s signature song, then she strongly disappoints me.

Everyone said the same about KFC and now is a huge success, I don’t like the song but I am happy for AKB since that one was actually the only popular song last year. Now KNP is not what I expected either, but I also hope made a hit, it’s not Mayuyu fault she neither write nor produce the song ( even Akip gave her a song about dogs which ones she hates) I feel bad for her, she is so stress out about this song make the same impact of KFC.

Actually, I liked KFC the very first time I heard it and that was from the demo that was leaked by a fan during the PV shoot.
About Mayuyu, it’s not entirely her fault this song sucks (I point fingers to Aki-p and whoever contributed to KNP) but she’s partly to blame. Even more so if she indeed asked for a cute idolish song. Even if I’m being a bit unfair it’s inevitable that people who don’t like KNP will blame Mayuyu the most out of all senbatsu members. She’s the center, she’s the face of the song. Being ranked #1 is a mixed bag, it’s not all about being worshipped as the top, she also made herself an easy target to blame if the 37th single did not live up to expectations.
Having said all that, I’m really curious to see if KNP will become the second coming of KFC. I will forever hate KNP but the public in general might think otherwise. From what I’ve seen so far, it has provoked a very polarized response.

When Sasshi won, everyone was saying how AKB would turn into a comical group and i was expecting a song that reflects this hype. When KFC came out it was just another idol song(weaker than Gingham IMO). I didn’t like it and i still don’t.

But the point is, i don’t think AkiP actually cares when these girls ask for certain types of songs.Otherwise, there wouldn’t be KFC and Jurina wouldn’t be singing Suzukake. To me, he’s currently in a phase of bringing back the oldies(what with KFC, Heart Ereki, Labrador, KNP). It’s like he wants to force the public to fall in love with what HE LIKES rather than what WE WANT.

So i don’t think its necessary to blame Mayuyu for KNP. Like Lulu said, she has no say in all this. We have all grown to expect more from AKB48 because of the records they’ve set and its inevitable to be disappointed more frequently from now. Like for me, i’ve always looked forward to summer singles like “Ponytail” and “Kachuusha” but these years the songs just don’t match up anymore.

Also, KFC was a hit because the management did alot of marketing behind the scenes. If they do the same this time, KNP can be a hit as well. But honestly, i’d prefer Mayu’s song to be naturally embraced by everyone.

No way this kokoro no placard is going to be embraced by everyone on its own merits. It will need a lot of marketing (perhaps even more than koi suru fortune cookie) and also a lot of luck. And even with all that, it might not be enough to reach that level. Perhaps Mayu fans will like it out of loyalty to her but a considerable part of the fandom and public in general will take a lot of convincing to embrace it. Except maybe toddlers, my 3 year old niece loved it. The rest of my fellow friends who are akb fans thought it was underwhelming, even worse considering this is a sousenkyo single.

if they’re trying to make a 2nd kfc, it’s rather lame and unimaginative
