This is an annual music program from TBS that brings together the greatest idols/bands/artistes. Hosted by SMAP’s Nakai Masahiro, this year’s “Ongaku no Hi” will last for as long as 13 hours, making it the longest running music program ever.

In the performance of KNP, Mayuyu holds up a signboard asking Nakai(MC) if he’d sing a duet with her, which he replied with a no. The MCs then join in the fun with Nakai showing a signboard asking Oshima Yuko if she’s watching the show. These signboard gimmicks are so fun!

“So..this is the AKB48 without Mayuyu/Takamina/Kojiharu!” well with a group so big you don’t even noticed who is missing if you are not fan of that certain girl ( or sometimes they even have any screen time ) I know these three girls are popular, but for many comments people are expecting Takamina and especially kojiharu to graduate, so honestly AKB48 without 1st generation members is the same AKB for many people.
To me its a fresh scene — too fresh for me cos the new faces are all averaging 16 and from the youngest generations. I’d prefer to see more girls from mid-generations like Kitahara, but they’re entirely shafted aside nowadays.
I think Akimoto has done a good job promoting AKB without popular members, even when Maeda, Yuko and Mariko left being still so popular the group is as good or even better than before ( maybe not song wise but their sales are still good) there are already many AKB girls that can replace the old popular girls.
Though for me AKB is not the same anymore, and I think is ironic when I remember this person who had this blog about AKB since 2006 and closed it in 2010 saying AKB was no longer the same ( he/she hated HebiRote by the way ) me being a new fan loved that AKB, now in 2014 is me saying AKB is no the same without the original Kami7.
