AKB48 heading to New York for Japan Day 2015

25 Apr

I know there will quite a few lucky readers here heading for New York as AKB48 will guesting for Japan Day 2015 on the 10th May! The lineup for New York includes Kojima Haruna(omg i’ve never seen her do ambassador work before), Iwatate Saho, Oshima Ryoka, Hirata Rina, Muto Tomu and Nozawa Rena.

Just the presence of Kojiharu alone makes this so exciting, don’t you think?

I am so close, but I cannot go T-T. The performance is gonna be just like 20 min though, but if I hadn’t classes for sure I’d go to see Kojiharu.

That’s a pity….i’m guessing they’ll perform 3 songs like the recent SKE fanmeeting in HongKong. Anyways, i’m sure someone will fancam it.

Reblogged this on Denny Sinnoh and commented:
New York? Oh No. My second least-favorite American City (after Washington, D.C.). If the group is to make an appearance in the USA, why not choose a place that is NOT a cesspool. I suggest next time choosing a nice safe American city such as Toledo, Ohio.

Girls: Just stay in the hotel lobby, and if you go out, watch out for what is on the sidewalks. Oh, and if you run into Donald Trump, do not … I repeat … do not stare at his hair.

So, I will have to drive 8 hours to NY if I want a glimpse of Kojima-san, eh. Well, I have my plans. I think I can trust WP readers not to notify the wrong Goombas. Let me be clear: My plan for a close meeting with the group does NOT include a hair-brained “Lucy and Ethel” like plan of impersonating NY city officials. My plan would also NOT include using hilariously large false mustaches. Just saying …

@Denny Sinnoh: Recognition-wise, though, NYC is much bigger and brighter than Toledo or other small cities. If AKB is going to a foreign country, they might as well go all out.
Plus, it’s going to be in a small GUARDED part of Central Park.

I’m really excited for Hirari to get an opportunity like this!

I’m hoping that New York City can turn back into a black-and-white movie city, full of romantic Gershwin and Cole Porter songs : ).
