[PV] AKB48 40th Single – Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai [M-ON! HD] [Full Ver.]

The director behind this MV is none other than Ohtomo Keishi, the same director behind the “Rurouni Kenshin” live action movies. To create this MV, he had gathered 100 over staff from the “Rurouni Kenshin” production team. It was the first time for AKB to unveil their MV at a cinema, and member Shimazaki Haruka expressed her happiness at being appointed center for this song.

To welcome the 10th anniversary and 40th single, it was revealed that a budget comparable to a movie was set aside for this 12-minute long masterpiece. The members start off by strutting on a runway in glamorous fashion, but the director wants everyone to lookout for the actions scenes, which show the members getting up despite receiving multiple blows. To prepare the members for these scenes, he had them undergo days of intensive training.

“Idols change as you film,it is their unique quality, so i got interested in seeing what will happen if I assembled a team to attack them for real. As i wanted to see their most desperate expressions, i went for it without crossing the limits,” said Director Ohtomo.

As the members were kicked or punched at, the hurt on their faces were filmed. Kashiwagi Yuki said “I didn’t notice it, but was the girl in the screaming scene me? I’m happy that the unseen side of me was shown.”

Shimazaki Haruka added “Even though the dance choreography was difficult to remember, the action and killing scenes this time was tough.I practiced during my free time. I thought i was going to watch an MV, but it turned out to be a movie. I was dumbfounded. When i realised it, tears had started flowing.”

Talking about the changes from previous years, where the pre-elections single always stuck to the themes of sea/beach/swimwear, Director Ohtomo said “I want to show something different, like the girls’ seriousness. Their appeal is not only in swimsuits.”

Loved the MV. First time seeing a director giving the center major attention but i think its also because Paruru acted really well. She can probably do better if she did some muscle training but her expressions alone are already very good. They might as well play this MV for all live performances cos i find the dance choreo boring.

Shimazaki sure has improved her acting skills, before when she had to pretend to be crying it looked so fake; here in the last scene it feels real.

Management sure is pushing her in Green flash MV she looked like she was the center and in this MV she is definitely the star I barely saw other members ( except the other 4 girls )

Yes i see alot of depth in her expressions. Like the last scene she had a mix of helplessness and frustration on her face even tho she’s winning already. It was quite a thought provoking scene.

Personally i wouldn’t mind if they cut the screentime for the other girls because Paruru’s performance is a delight to watch. The only other girl i can imagine doing this role is Matsui Rena.

I wonder the sudden push of Kato Rena, she kind of disappeared for a time and them pum she is in the front row. Overall this has been one of the best MV AKB has had lately, but for me it is not the best one, there are too many fight scenes an a little plot in it or maybe I didn’t understand and the plot is more about symbols through the video?. As for the song I like it but at the same time it is not a song I would replay after one listened.

I guess they had to settle on Kato Rena next since Kawaei/Iriyama are quitting. She was originally pushed alongside Kawaei/Iriyama wasn’t she? But she didn’t start off at the same momentum and only gained some footing last year so they probably want to test her potential again.

I didn’t like the song as well but the MV was an eye-opener.Well if you read the director’s intentions, he wants to show that the girls aren’t just pretty faces and are actually strong-willed. Maybe that will help form the plot in your head.

maybe this single is some kind of troll from mangement to the fans from top member like Mayu, Sashi, and Yukirin (poor yukirin she has been trolled since GF). Make some fans raged in fire, and urged “why !? why even top member from old gen didnt have screen times !? heck that !! fvck mnagement”, and then they will gonna be like “Shit !! lets show to mangement who’s the boss in here, lets decide this in sousenkyo !!”, and then they will power vote the top members until the climax, (maybe even until they sold their kidney to give the votes) 😀 lol

I see this happening in Mayu’s chinese fandom already.
