She seems to put a lot of effort to make her music career work, but every time she released a single the sales are less and less. I know she still has a big fan base, or so I have seen when she does some events, a big group of people always go to see her, but she definitely should try another thing. Music wise she is not a stronger singer, and the public are never gonna take her as a serious singer .
That is the sad reality of being ex-idol and solo singer. At least this trend is happening to many others too. I believe the AKB members all wanna become actresses for this reason.
