Arashi Blast in Miyagi causes traffic congestion

20 Sep

Sorry for the stream of Arashi articles..

It’s silver weekend now in Japan and Arashi is holding their major concert in Miyagi Prefecture. The concert will take place over 4 days and 200,000 fans are expected to attend. From this morning, fans from all over Japan have been flocking to Sendai JR Station, causing traffic congestion.

One resident who is hosting her friends from Tokyo said “It’s their first time in Sendai. They want to stay and enjoy the food here, but couldn’t get a hotel so they’re leaving after the concert.”

The unreserved seating carriages on the Yamagata Shinkansen are reported to have reached 100% occupancy. Trains from Tokyo to Morioka have also reached 150% occupancy. Roads leading to the concert venue are also congested.

This Miyagi concert is like version 2.0 of the Hawaii concert last year. I wish i can go someday but not willing to squeeze with these people!
