AKB48 documentary “The Time has Come” to be released Nov 7

Earlier in July, AKB48‘s 4th documentary film ‘DOCUMENTARY of AKB48 The time has come Shoujotachi wa, Ima, Sono Senaka ni Nani Omou?‘ was aired in theaters in Japan. For international fans who were not able to catch it in theaters, good news as the documentary will be released as DVD on 7 November 2014.

The documentary will follow AKB48’s activities from 2013 to June 2014. It will highlight the group’s big team shuffle, Oshima Yuko’s graduation, the stabbing incident and AKB48 32th/37th Single Senbatsu General Election.

A teaser for the documentary is seen below.

Takamina: As everyone knows,a sad incident has occurred.
Yukirin: I don’t want to lose a place where i can meet everyone directly.
Sasshi: AKB48 won’t lose!
Mayuyu: I’ll move forward with AKB48’s future in mind.
Yuko: I realised that i was in AKB48 for the sake of my friends, because friends are here.
Takamina: Lets do what we can so that Kawaei and Iriyama can have a place they can return to.
Yokoyama: It’s the time for the members to unite.

The theme song for this documentary, “Ai no Sonzai”, was performed in AKB48 Show a few days ago.

AKB48 performs theme song “Ai no Sonzai” from documentary

AKB48 performed the theme song for their documentary “The Time has Come, Shoujo tachi wa, Ima, Sono Senaka ni Nani wo Omou?” on Music Japan recently. Titled “Ai no Sonzai”, the song talks about keeping the faith when one experiences setbacks in life.

The documentary was shown in theaters across Japan in July and depicts the members’ journeys as they experienced the group’s team shuffle, Oshima Yuko’s graduation and the senbatsu sousenkyo this year.

For international fans, the documentary will be released on Blu-ray in November later this year.
