[Updated]Music video for SKE48 15th single “Bukiyou Taiyou”

The full music video for SKE48 15th single “Bukiyou Taiyou” has just been released. This song is currently on endless replay for me as I love the storyline in the lyrics! It talks about a guy’s long-time crush on his friend and how he’s unable to pluck up his courage to confess. The MV producer did not use the lyrics to film his MV, but it seems like Jurina/Rena/Akarin each have their own story to tell.

Jurina kicks off the MV by telling her senpai that she hates him. She then runs off to the school’s rooftop with a regretful look on her face.

Rena stands alone where the Matsuri is supposed to take place. In Japanese culture, the Matsuri is an iconic spot where friends and lovers gather to have fun. It is also a place where confessions take place and relationships blossom. However, Rena looks forlorn as rain has forced organizers to cancel the event.

Akarin also waits alone at the seaside for something/someone as dark clouds gather.

Eventually, it turns out that Jurina is the only one with an ending to her love story. Towards the end, she brightens up when the Sun returned and plucks up her courage to shout “Senpai! I like you!”, unaware that Senpai is approaching from behind.

My thoughts on the MV? There was a snippet of Shoujo drama which i liked, but the producer should have gone all out with the acting. Rena’s such a good actress and it seems like a waste of talent to just let her stand there and smile. Nevertheless, i liked the close-up shots where JRA were playing with sparklers. They looked so pretty!

SKE48 to release 15th single “Bukiyou Taiyou” with 20 senbatsu members

SKE48 revealed the title and participating members for new single Bukiyou Taiyou. For the first time, 20 members will be chosen as senbatsu, including members added from the grand shuffle this year. The single comes in 4 editions and will be released on 30th July 2014.
