The 4hour show last night featured some nostalgic songs which brings us back to the days of classic Jpop. This is just Part 1 of the show, and Part 2 airs 2 weeks later on 16th December 2015.
Selected classics
Boa & Tomomi Kahala – Meri Kuri It’s been quite awhile since Boa appeared on Japanese TV. In terms of vocals, no one is better than Boa! Some netizens thought Tomomi Kahala’s singing was better but i think her vocal style is too old school.
Motohiro Hata x AI – Story
EXILE Vocalists – Last Christmas
Yamamoto Sayaka x Leo Ieiri – Kimi ga kureta natsu
Nakayama Miho – Sekai chuu no dare yori kitto
Ayumi Hamasaki – Seasons
46/48 Group
Nogizaka46 – Ima, hanashitai dare ka ga iru
AKB48 – 365nichi no kami hikouki/Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby I’m glad AKB48 is ending the year promoting 2 great songs. I didn’t like Kuchibiru as much as 365nichi earlier on. However, the cute choreography, costumes and perhaps the members’ enthusiasm for this song is making it shine. Takamina looks cute now with her slanted pigtails. Jurina looks gaunt in Love Crescendo but in this song she’s just 18 like she should be.
AKB48 x Shinji Tanimura- Rudolph the red nosed reindeer
Johnny’s Family
SMAP – Yuki ga Futte kita/Otherside
Kis-my-ft2 – Everybody Go/Saigo wa Yappari Kimi It might be the stage setting or their glittering suits, but i think they look especially cool today on skates.
TOKIO – Tokyo Drive
Hey!Say!JUMP – Christmas Song
Hey!Say!JUMP – Ultra Music Power/Kimi Attraction
Arashi – Wish/GUTS!/Ai wo Sakebe I’ve never seen collaborations of Arashi with girl groups so this is a first! Momoiro Clover Z did a great job dancing for Arashi.
Update: Most 48 videos gone but i’ve found alternative sources. Check them out quickly if you haven’t..
This is a special episode to celebrate Music Station’s 30th anniversary. Show was 10hours long and featured many major acts including X Japan, Ayumi Hamasaki, EXILE, 48Group, Johnny’s Family etc.

AKB48 – Ponytail to Shushu/ Everyday, Kachuusha / Koisuru Fortune Cookie (Kimutaku center) The biggest winner from this performance is SMAP’s Kimutaku, who was forced into the KFC performance by Sashihara. Despite the annoyance on his face, he performed the full choreography perfectly, impressing netizens with his professionalism. In the end Kimutaku said “Music Station does things like this?”
Other members who attracted most attention tonight… Many comments from GirlsChannel on Mayuyu’s growing beauty and how she’s shaken off the idol look.
Within 48 fandom, many gushed over cute Paruru’s healthy return to senbatsu. I have to say Paruru’s signature twintails are really cute! Many are calling Payuyu the strongest combi in AKB48.
Johnny’s Family
Johnny’s performances are quite fun this time around as we have live video footage of Arashi from their Miyagi concert, and medleys where the idols are grouped according to their generation. It is quite interesting to see for example, Nishikido Ryo standing next to NEWS, and KAT-TUN performing Real Face with just 4 members. *Heart pinch*
Which Johnny’s generation do you belong to? Mine is Ikemen Generation.

In the 10th September issue of Bunshun, an article was published talking about the type of houses various 48Group members lived in. This topic was brought up because of the recent articles about AKS being investigated by tax authorities for undeclared expenses.
According to various media reports, members who live with their families receive a subsidy on their housing rents, in amounts from 1~2 million yen per month. Kojima Haruna in particular, seems to live most luxuriously as her monthly rent is 1.5~3million yen. Her apartment is a 3LDK spanning at least 200sq metres. It comes with 2 baths, a veranda fitted with a jacuzzi and a view of the forest. The place is close to supermarkets and taxis.
Graduated member Kasai Tomomi lives in a 1million yen high rise apartment in Roppongi. She has been spotted going to a Sushi place with a middle aged guy in the neighbourhood and no doubt continues to live a “bubbly” life. (*they’re trying to hint at her relationship with someone we all know about)
Graduated ace Maeda Atsuko used to live in a luxury apartment in Shibuya worth 500,000yen a month, but because of the famous incident where she was papp-ed drunk and crying all over Sato Takeru, male fans started hanging outside her house. She now lives in a low-level mansion in Meguro, about 1million yen a month.
A reporter comments “Celebrities love low-level luxury apartments which allows them to enter/exit easily without revealing their faces. There are lots of cases where idols,or actors in their teens or 20s will rent tower apartments which are properly managed so their agencies can fetch them easily to/from work. However, those with a lower level of income like comedians stay in normal houses.”
There are also “celebrity towers” where you can see various stars living under one roof.
“In Shibuya, there’s a luxury apartment with concierge service, rent starts from 1 million yen. KAT-TUN’s Kamenashi Kazuya, Yamashita Tomohisa, Ayaka and husband Mizushima Hiro, Koda Kumi etc all live there. In Meguro area there is a tower apartment where the average rent is 500,000 yen and EXILE members amongst others live there.”
Kojiharu has so many CMs she definitely has what it takes to live luxuriously. I am more excited about the fact that Kame and Yamapi live in the same building!
Fuji TV’s drama “HEAT” starring EXILE Akira as the male lead has clocked an average of 3.1% in ratings (Kanto area) during its 7th episode, a mere 0.3% increase from last week, which saw ratings plummeting to record-low 2.8%.
The series started at 6.6%, then fell to 3.9%(2nd episode), 4.2%(3rd episode), 3.4%(4th episode), 3.4%(5th episode), 2.8%(6th episode). The previous record holder was 2013 drama “Oto no Kanojo” at 3.0%
Lead actor EXILE Akira(33) acts as an elite businessman from a property company who infiltrates the firefighting team to gather confidential information. He starts to feel the joy of protecting people through his firefighting activities. This is a drama which is co-produced by civil defence organisations in Japan. Plans for a movie have even been made before the airing of this drama.
Co-actors in this series include Kuriyama Chiaki, Sato Ryuta, Tanaka Kei, Nanao, SMAP Inagaki Goro etc.
Yet another one of the summer music festivals….i’m tired of posting these since it’s always the same performances from the same people. If i had to pick the one highlight, it’d just be Ohara Sakurako’s “Kimi ga kureta Natsu” which is the theme song for Fuji TV’s drama “Koinaka”.

Actress Takei Emi(21) and EXILE Takahiro(30) are reported to be in a relationship, according to 27th April issue of FLASH magazine. The 2 previously worked together in “Senryokugai Sousakan”(2014 drama) but seemed to have gotten close after an overseas shoot for the drama special in Macau this March. They were spotted dining together with a bunch of friends in various Tokyo restaurants. Takahiro was also photographed entering Takei’s mansion.
Takahiro was previously rumored to be in a long term relationship with AKB48 graduate Itano Tomomi(23), but reports of them breaking up surfaced at the start of this year.
Netizens were quick to comment on his new love, most of whom were approving of the couple. “They looked close from a long time back and are compatible.” Some were also curious about Tomochin’s reaction to this piece of news.
Both Takei and Takahiro’s agencies were quick to deny the report. Oscar, the agency representing Takei admitted that Takahiro did visit Takei’s apartment, but Takei’s mother and staff were present as well. “They will not meet from now on,even if a 3rd party is present,” the agency emphasized. Takahiro’s agency LDH also explained that they were friends.
Che’nelle – Happiness(with Matsushita Nao on the piano) FINALLY this song has been performed! I can never get enough of it. Beautiful voice and lyrics, all self-penned by the singer herself!
Johnny’s Family
A full blown Johnny’s artistes collaboration to celebrate Kondo Masahiro’s 35th year of debut. This is practically a miracle cause Johnny’s artistes are split into 2 factions and they have never collaborated in this manner. The inclusion of SMAP really means alot for the fans as well as for the agency. Erm wait, where’s Yamapi?
