19 Oct

Namie Amuro will be singing the theme song for the Fuji TV drama sequel, “First Class 2” starring Erika Sawajiri. It has been announced last month that the drama will be having its second run soon after its first season ended in June.

Adding details to its second season, it has been revealed that the “Queen of Japanese Pop Music” is going to sing its theme song, which is titled “Brighter Day“. It will be released as a single on 12th November and the song’s lyrics relate to Sawajiri’s character who goes through the very competitive industry of fashion and who perseveres to succeed in the career she has chosen.

Listen to a preview below.

If you guys find the First Class 2 poster familiar, that’s because the photographer behind it is the same as AKB48’s 32nd single Koisuru Fortune Cookie – Leslie Kee. The grey backdrop, the closeup on their faces, and the square crops. It’s almost exactly like AKB48’s jacket cover! Except this one is more expressive thanks to the actresses. Okay….so Sawajiri Erika is the center and the rest of the actresses are the senbatsu. Lol…

Che’Nelle sings theme song for FujiTV “Dear Sisters” drama

19 Oct

If you’re watching Dear Sister (Fuji TV) this season, you’d certainly have noticed the awesome OST that plays at the end of the episode. The song titled “Happiness” is by Che’Nelle(31) , a singer based in Los Angeles.

It was revealed that this is the first time Che’Nelle has penned lyrics for a drama theme song.  She received a break back in 2011 when she covered an english version of Tee’s “Baby, I Love You”, which continues to be a hit song during wedding ceremonies.

The drama Dear Sister starring Ishihara Satomi and Matsushita Nao is a love comedy about 2 sisters who have opposite personalities. Ishihara Satomi plays a free-spirited and innocent little sister, while Matsushita Nao is the serious and clumsy elder sister. Che’Nelle wrote the lyrics to this song based on the sisters’ wish for each other’s happiness.

The single will be released on 19th November.

Lyrics:
Happy things,Frustrations
Are what i want to share
But i’m just beating around the bush Oh

Happy moments, Frustrated moments
Even if i search or stop, i can’t find it
Is it the same for you?

When you’re sad in the dark
I know immediately
I’m not gonna give up tonight
Even if i’m clumsy
I’ll always be beside you

I’m always gonna be with you
I want to protect you
You’re the most important person in the world

I love you too much
I can’t express it well
It’s alright if you just remain here
Cos forever You’re my Happiness

“Bokura no Ongaku” and “Shin Domoto Kyoudai” gets the axe from FujiTV

2 Aug

Johnny’s music programs “Bokura no Ongaku” (helmed by SMAP Kusanagi Tsuyoshi) and “Shin Domoto Kyoudai” (helmed by Kinki Kids) will end their run at the end of September.

These shows have been airing for more than 10 years and are well-received by the public. So why the sudden axe? Apparently, the producer behind these shows, Sakuchi-san, has a stance of banning lip-synching on his shows. This has offended major entertainment and recording companies. The management of Fuji TV decided to axe Sakuchi-san’s programmes to quell the protests.

“Bokura no Ongaku” has been airing since April 2004 while “Shin Domoto Kyoudai” has been airing since April 2001.

NOOO!!!
I can’t speak much for Bokura no Ongaku but i’ve seen very high quality performances from them, my favorite being Tohoshinki’s performances below.

As for Domoto Kyoudai,it’s not that much of a music show but one of my favourite varieties since it brings so many of my fandoms together. Koichi’s fan service, Takamina’s fights with the cameraman, Tsuyoshi’s banter with Koichi, and the occasional VIP appearances from Sato Takeru, Oguri Shun etc. I can’t imagine this show being cut just because of silly fights with the entertainment agencies!

8 Mar

Golden Bomber’s Yutaka Kyan will be debuting in his first prime-time TV series on Fuji TV! The series is called “Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou” and it is currently airing on Mondays at 9pm. Kyan’s character as a bookstore assistant will appear in Episode 9 on the 11th March.

The main cast includes Gouriki Ayame, Takahashi Katsumi and AKIRA from EXILE and guest roles involve Ikuta Erika of Nogizaka46 and Nakamura Shidou amongst others.

When asked about his feelings, Kyan said: ” This plot is the best i’ve seen among dramas so far. I’m glad my dreams of becoming an actor is coming true. I will quit Golden Bomber to become an actor or bookstore assistant! Or since i’m acting alongside AKIRA, maybe i can join EXILE.” (laughs)

We never know when this guy is serious but i hope Kyan can show his loyalty to Golden Bomber once in a while!!!! >_<
