AKB48 General Elections 2017 will be the coldest event in history

17 Jun

AKB48「第9回選抜総選挙」荒天の場合、無観客で開催へ…指原莉乃「怒りで複雑です」

In summary, due to likelihood of thunderstorms the concert is canceled.

Fans with a ticket will not even be allowed to watch off-stage as the voting results are revealed, because obviously the management could not scramble in time to find another venue to fit everyone. The members will hold their ranking ceremony in private and the results will be streamed live on TV/in 48 theaters.

Apparently hotels in Okinawa are nearly full due to Sousenkyo! Poor folks!

Highlights of AKB48 General Elections 2017 in Akimoto Yasushi’s own words

30 May

Excerpt from an article that was published on 28th May 2017.

I was asked about the highlights of this year, but wouldn’t the fans know better?I asked a few fans, indeed the biggest attention will be whether HKT48’s Sashihara would win again this year. Besides the exposure on TV, the declaration of it being her last Sousenkyo makes us question if this would be a beautiful ending. Another question is, how would Yamamoto Sayaka’s withdrawal from the event affect the results? It is said that only Yamamoto can topple Sashihara, but her withdrawal shocked the fans. But we can’t simply deduce that Sashihara’s win is definite. It’s said that a new AKB48 won’t be born if Sashihara isn’t toppled, so the conservative fans are banding together despite being in different camps. It seems like they are amassing votes for orthodox idol Watanabe Mayu who also happens to have announced this being her last Sousenkyo. In other words, starting from votes from Yamamoto Sayaka and Kashiwagi Yuki, this time too, those fans who are wishing for the return of the years when AKB48 were orthodox idols, are raising “anti-Sashihara” votes.

Also, the united SKE48 fans might also concentrate fully on Matsui Jurina and bring her the win. Miyawaki Sakura’s growth is also something to look forward to.

Akimoto san, you don’t need the votes to tell you how much we miss the original AKB48. The number of fans who have left already says it all.

That said, the new AKB48 single will be released tomorrow and if you sincerely believe that voting will change AKB48 for the better, pls vote for Watanabe Mayu becos she = AKB48.

AKB48 45th single Senbatsu Sousenkyo ~Who shall we follow?

esults here: http://sousenkyo.akb48.co.jp/result.php

My passion for 48Group is running dry, so i think i will leave it to other sites to do their translations.
If you’re interested in what happened in the Sousenkyo, can checkout some brief translation notes in my Live Chat.

I really appreciate those who follow my site every year during this time. (Although the number is decreasing drastically.) It’s still always nice when some pop by to say they were here last year. Thanks and maybe we’ll see each other again.

AKB48 General Elections 2016: A look at China fans’ crowdfunding campaigns

18 Jun

Do not copy and paste/screencap/extract any part of this post in forums/blogs/SNS/other sites. Especially for those on Tumblr, Stage48, Onehallyu, Twitter. Thanks for cooperating.

このページの内容は、他 の Webサ イト(特にまとめサイト)や印刷媒体、その他の記録媒体等において、複製、改変、翻案など をする ことは 禁止 し ま す。ご協力ありがとうございます。

Just a teaser before results are announced later tonight.

I’ve only looked at votes for the Kami7 level members and have ranked them according to how much their fans have raised so far. Note that these funds is not all-inclusive since there may be campaigns which run independently elsewhere, and there will be fans who choose to vote/donate in private.

Please do not read if you think it’s going to be spoilers.

7.Nyan Nyan Kamen

Final Votes: 2362
Last year: None
Kojiharu c-fans are quite enthusiastic, however they have difficulty getting bulk amounts of cheap votes. Otherwise i believe she’d be getting much more support than this.

Source

6.Yamamoto Sayaka

Final Votes: 8386
Last year: 4647
Some increase from last year!

Source

5.Miyawaki Sakura

Final Votes: 12,602
Last year: 12,591
Despite the huge push she’s received the past year, her chinese votes hasn’t increased at all.

Source

4.Shimazaki Haruka

Final Votes: 14,303
Last year: 12,675
With Paruru’s absence in AKB activities the past year, her fans are eager to prove that they are still around and rooting her on. Their fundraising activities are the most transparent of all fanbases, with reporting done to the last $0.01. Not surprising that her votes increased as this is also apparently her “last” sousenkyo.

Source

3.Kashiwagi Yuki

Final Votes: 16,064
Last year: 38,000
The boost of enthusiasm from last year(when Yukirin announced her ambitions for No.1) is now gone, for reasons we can imagine. Yukirin will probably be fighting with Jurina for the No.3 spot.

Source

2.Sashihara Rino

Final Votes:18,100
Last year: 14,046
Her Japanese Fanclub admin actually predicted that there will be a huge gap in votes in China. However, he/she has also very confidently announced that at least 220,000 votes has been secured domestically.

Update: Only 800 people participated in China’s crowdfunding, but on average each person put in 22 votes. Like the rumors suggest, her fans are rich – and putting it in their own words, “aggressive” and “maniacs”.

Source

1.Watanabe Mayu

Final Votes:51,716
Last year: ~34,000
Above amount is contributed from 4,000 fans, and on average each person contributed 13 votes. There’s probably at least 1,600 votes from another independent seller and more from other fanclubs in Taiwan, Hong Kong, SE Asia. If we consider global popularity, Mayu is easily the Queen of Group48.

0.Matsui Jurina
Final Votes: 27,000???
Last year: 15,200 (interim figure with no final report)
Somehow they did not put out an official report, and 27,000 is just a reported figure i saw somewhere. So pls do not take it seriously.

AKB48 Grand Shuffle 2015: Kawaei Rina graduates,Kitahara Rie transfers to NGT48

26 Mar

AKB48 went through yet another grand shuffle on the 26th March 2015, during their Saitama Super Arena concert. Kawaei Rina announced her graduation from the group, citing last year’s slashing incident as the reason. Another member Kitahara Rie has also been transferred to NGT48, the group’s new chain based in Niigata. Many members’ concurrencies have been retracted, including that of Kashiwagi Yuki with NMB48. However, she will be starting a new concurrency with NGT48 alongside Kitahara.

At the end of the concert, Kayano Shinobu(AKB48 Group General Manager) appeared to announce the shuffle plans for this year, which she said has been approved by producer Akimoto Yasushi. Members have 2 days to consult the management and reject their new positions.

Yokoyama Yui(current Team K captain) will be moved to captain Team A. Her position will be replaced by Minegishi Minami(current Team 4 captain). Kizaki Yuria will takeover Kuramochi Asuka as Team B captain. Team 4 will be headed by Takahashi Juri(current Team B member).

Kitahara Rie spoke of her new assignment “It’s a rare thing to be handed such a huge project. At 23 and my 8th year into AKB, i will show you that it’s possible to achieve new things.”

Most girls who were holding concurrencies had it cancelled, including Matsui Rena and Ikoma Rina, who were exchange students of Nogizaka46 and AKB48 respectively. In another surprising move, Lifetime Research Student Matsumura Kaori was also offered the opportunity to become a regular member of SKE48’s Team KII.

At the end of these announcements, Shinobu read out the news of Kawaei’s graduation, shocking fans in the concert hall. Kawei explained tearfully, “I stopped attending handshake events after the incident last year. People around told me i didn’t need to mind, but I did.” She added that her passion is in acting, and without the association to AKB48, she would not be casted at all. Therefore she has decided to study acting from zero.

Kawaei’s graduation date has not been decided.
