[Updated]Performances from Music Station Ultra Fes 2015

24 Sep

Update: Most 48 videos gone but i’ve found alternative sources. Check them out quickly if you haven’t..

This is a special episode to celebrate Music Station’s 30th anniversary. Show was 10hours long and featured many major acts including X Japan, Ayumi Hamasaki, EXILE, 48Group, Johnny’s Family etc.

48/46 Group

Nogizaka46 – Nandome no Aozora ka
Ikuta Erika wows with her piano solo and opera voice. What a talent wasted as an idol!

HKT48 – Melon Juice
SKE48 – Pareo wa Emerald
NMB48 – Nagiichi

AKB48 – Ponytail to Shushu/ Everyday, Kachuusha / Koisuru Fortune Cookie (Kimutaku center)
The biggest winner from this performance is SMAP’s Kimutaku, who was forced into the KFC performance by Sashihara. Despite the annoyance on his face, he performed the full choreography perfectly, impressing netizens with his professionalism. In the end Kimutaku said “Music Station does things like this?”

Other members who attracted most attention tonight…

Many comments from GirlsChannel on Mayuyu’s growing beauty and how she’s shaken off the idol look.

Within 48 fandom, many gushed over cute Paruru’s healthy return to senbatsu. I have to say Paruru’s signature twintails are really cute! Many are calling Payuyu the strongest combi in AKB48.

Johnny’s Family

Johnny’s performances are quite fun this time around as we have live video footage of Arashi from their Miyagi concert, and medleys where the idols are grouped according to their generation. It is quite interesting to see for example, Nishikido Ryo standing next to NEWS, and KAT-TUN performing Real Face with just 4 members. *Heart pinch*

Which Johnny’s generation do you belong to? Mine is Ikemen Generation.

This week on Music Station: Tackey & Tsubasa forget their lyrics, SMAP, E-girls and more perform

13 Sep

Tackey & Tsubasa – Yamanote sen Uchi mawari ~Ai no meiro~
“Travelling around the Yamanote Line ~Lost in love~” is a story of a guy reminiscing about a past love while travelling along the Yamanote Line(subway). It seems like TakkiTsuba have really lost their way as they struggled to recite the subway station names, a highlight during the chorus. It started with Tsubasa repeating “Osaki” after Takki, and even though Takki ignored it, Tsubasa continued to forget his lyrics. An exasperated Takki went “Ah~~!” and stopped dancing to focus on the lyrics, but Tsubasa totally gave up on the lyrics and continued dancing instead. The irony between these 2….anyways though it was surprising to see them making a mistake, their reactions were kinda cute. During the ending, SMAP’s Shingo teased Tsubasa so much that he shrank into himself.

E-girls – Dance dance dance
Probably the best song to define E-girls. These girls are really good at dancing and it shows in their powerful moves. In the middle portion where they execute the Michael Jackson moonwalk, the CENTER (whoever she is) just stole all the limelight with her aura.

SMAP – Ai ga Tomaru Made ha
The guys are winking like crazy in this performance because Music Station did a special corner on the number of winks SMAP members have flashed over the past 24 years. In 1st place is Kimura, followed by Shingo. Nakai has never offered a wink in Music Station’s history.

Performances from Ongaku no Hi 2015

‘Ongaku no Hi’ started back in 2011 after the Great Tohoku Earthquake with the concept “Let’s spread energy across Japan by gathering the power of music and song!” This will be TBS’ 5th year broadcasting the program, and it will be a special project commemorating the 60th anniversary since their establishment.

Performances from FNS Music Festival 2014

14 Aug

On August 13th, Fuji TV aired their annual summer music show, FNS Uta no Natsu Matsuri. This year’s show features artistes such as Yamashita Tomohisa, Kis-My-Fts, SMAP, Momoiro Clover Z, 48groups, WaT and more. Check out the official site for the full lineup.

Highlights of the show include:

  • Theme song of FujiTV drama “Wakamono Tachi”  (Tsumabuki, Eita from the drama also showed up)
  • Yamashita Tomohisa‘s new song “Hello” from upcoming album
  • Japanese version of “Love is an open door” from movie Frozen

wakamono tachi
Moriyama Naotaro – Wakamono tachi
I’m watching this drama so i loved it when this song was performed. And the bonus in seeing Eita/Tsumabuki singing along shoulder to shoulder!!!*Kyaa*

Yamashita Tomohisa x Hata Motohiro – Hello
I liked the CD version but the live is quite boring.Well, credits to Yamapi for trying to keep the mood high though.

frozen
Japanese version of “Love is an open door” in a stage play setting. It was definitely one of the more well-received performances of the night, judging from the cheers.

SMAP x Suga Shikao x Yamapi x Kis-My-Ft2 – Yoru Sora no Mukou
One nostalgic SMAP song and nice solo from Kimura and his guitar

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x23jnjb_20140813-fns-kismy_fun?syndication=210716
Kis-My-Ft2 – Another Future

Kis-My-Ft2 x T.M. Revolution – High Pressure

Yuzu x Sandaime J Soul Brothers – Natsu iro

Yuzu x Sandaime J Soul Brothers – Hanabi

Nishino Kana – Watashi tachi

Momoiro Clover Z/ Ebichu/ Team Shachihoko – Nana iro no Stardust
I don’t follow these idols but this song is quite nice and their vocals seem to be better than the 48groups?!

AKB48 – Heavy Rotation (Kawaei Rina center)
Kawaei makes a great center for this song! That’s the most Yuko-like solo dance i’ve ever seen, and that solo line at the end was pitch perfect! (even better than Yuko hehe)

AKB48 x WaT x Naoto Inti Raymi – The world is ours!
I chose to post this song cos of WaT. How long have they been missing from the music industry?! Teppei looks as cute as ever…the 48girls are so lucky!

AKB48 – Kokoro no Placard
To be honest this perf is horrible.I wouldn’t blame it that much on the live singing. It was more of the band and that weak trumpet solo in the middle which totally destroyed the whole song.

NMB48 – Nagiichi

SKE48 – Bukiyou Taiyou
Rather emotionless singing for such a beautiful song..

SKE48, Kis-my-ft2 and more on Music Station

8 Aug

SKE48 – Bukiyou Taiyou

Kis-my-ft2 – Another Future

Nishino Kana – Darling

Hata Motohiro – Himawari no Yakusoku

Leo Ieiri – Junjou

AKB48 performs Kokoro no Placard on Music Station and more!

26 Jul

Today’s episode of Music Station was a 3 hour long summer special. Guests on this episode include: Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Eight Ranger, Nishino Kana, AKB48, Sayaka Kanda, May J., SMAP, EXILE TRIBE, and BUMP OF CHICKEN.

AKB48 cut:

In this performance, the top3 members hold up signboards with handwritten messages for the fans. To be honest, i had no idea what “Placard” means before this, but now I do.

Watanabe Mayu: “Thanks to everyone’s support I am singing from the center position!! Thank you!”

Mayuyu certainly has some nice drawing skills. That rabbit is so cute!

Sashihara Rino: “Please look out for HKT48 too! I will work hard for the Takigyo!”

(She had previously promised to take a penalty if she was unable to retain her No.1 position in the senbatsu sousenkyo. The penalty she has chosen is to go for Takigyo, which is a form of meditation where one stands under a waterfall and clears his mind of all thoughts.)

Kashiwagi Yuki: “I want to become your No.1 !”

Call it fanservice, but I think Yukirin is sending a message for next year’s elections.

Overall, i think the performance was much more enjoyable thanks to these signboard messages for the fans. It is a new gimmick and certainly a bonus for the top members who can use the chance to promote themselves. I only wish they can ditch those white outfits for something more colorful.

Finally, a bonus shot from Kojiharu’s instagram! The new twin combi NyanParu!

Performances from TV Tokyo Music Festival 2014

27 Jun

A music festival featuring some major jpop artistes was held yesterday to celebrate TV Tokyo’s 50th anniversary. Guests include TOKIO/V6/Kanjani8/NEWS/AKB48/SKE48/NMB48/HKT48/Nogizaka46/Morning Musume OG/Morning Musume ’14/Kahara Tomomi/Golden Bomber/Ikimonogakari/Nishino Kana/Hitoto Yo/Moriyama Naotaro/Sukima Switch/May J.

One of the highlights was Goto Maki’s return to Morning Musume OG after a hiatus of 2.5 years. Once the golden girl of Morning Musume, Goto Maki’s performance with the group brings us back to the days when Morning Musume was at its best.

AKB48 Kashiwagi Yuki, who is known to be a fan of Morning Musume, posted on her Google+: “Everyone in Morning Musume OG were shining brightly. My tears are coming. I like them after all! Ishikawa Rika san too! Goto Maki san is so cute!”

Morning Musume OG – Morning Coffee/ LOVE Machine/ Renai Revolution 21
Morning Musume ’14 – Password is 0

NMB48 – Ibiza Girl
The 48-group also showed up in full force, together with official rivals Nogizaka46. The new Queen of AKB48 Watanabe Mayu took up center for past hits previously centered by Maeda Atsuko and Oshima Yuko. The sister groups also showed off their new image after being reinforced with new members from this year’s grand reshuffle.

AKB48 – Labrador Retriever/Koisuru Fortune Cookie
HKT48 – Melon Juice
Another interesting performance was “Labrador Retriever”, as it was performed by the newly selected senbatsu members from the recent general elections.

NEWS – weeeek/ ONE -for the win-

Golden Bomber – Memeshikute
These guys are still popular for their one-hit “Memeshikute” and funny skits. Unfortunately, their skits are sometimes based on Japanese comedy so only the natives will get it.

V6 – Wa ni natte Odorou/Darling/Sexy Honey Bunny!
This is for the older Johnny’s fans. Anyone?

May J – Let it Go (Japanese version)
This globally popular song has been leading the karaoke charts in Japan for a very long time.

Kanjani8 – Zukkoke Otoko Michi/King of Otoko
Kanjani8 also went out of the studio to perform. Bringing us on a tour of TV Tokyo, they gathered a whole bunch of employees to join in on a mass dance.Even the CEO of TV Tokyo showed up.

Ikimonogatari – Arigatou/Love Song wa Tomaranai
This is for those who love pure Japanese music.
