AKB48 Watanabe Mayu, Mukaichi Mion, HKT48 concurrent member Miyawaki Sakura appeared at a press conference for “57th Japan Record Award” (30th December on TBS) on the 15th December.
This year, their 40th single “Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai” has won the “Execellent Work Award” and the group will be up against strong contenders Sandaime J Soul Brothers for the “Japan Record Award”.
Watanabe Mayu talked about winning the award for exiting member Takahashi Minami. “It’s been 10 years since we were formed, she’s the one who thinks about the members most. I really respect her. This is her last Japan Records ceremony. For all her hard work so far, we want to gift the award to her.” She also said the winning the award would make it a memorable year for AKB48’s 10th anniversary.
AKB48 previously won the “Japan Record Award” in 2011 for “Flying Get” and 2012 for “Manatsu no Sounds Good!”. This year they will be up Sandaime J Soul Brothers, who won last year for their smash hit “R.Y.U.S.E.I”, as well as other artistes.
The biggest news of the night: Taguchi Junnosuke announces departure from KAT-TUN and Johnny’s Jimusho. Taguchi says he’s turning 30 soon and this decision was made for the sake of his future.

AKB48 – 365nichi no Kami Hikouki / Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby I prefer the Asa ga Kita song over Kuchibiru. Kuchibiru has a good tune, really colorful like what you’d find in a carnival but the lyrics are simpler than simple, and cutesy just doesn’t work for most members now. Quite honestly, i’m cringing whenever Takamina does the winks and pouts.

Despite the annoyance on his face, he performed the full choreography perfectly, impressing netizens with his professionalism.In the end Kimutaku said “Music Station does things like this?”
Other members who attracted most attention tonight… Many comments from GirlsChannel on Mayuyu’s growing beauty and how she’s shaken off the idol look.
Within 48 fandom, many gushed over cute Paruru’s healthy return to senbatsu. I have to say Paruru’s signature twintails are really cute! Many are calling Payuyu the strongest combi in AKB48.

Johnny’s performances are quite fun this time around as we have live video footage of Arashi from their Miyagi concert, and medleys where the idols are grouped according to their generation. It is quite interesting to see for example, Nishikido Ryo standing next to NEWS, and KAT-TUN performing Real Face with just 4 members. *Heart pinch*

‘Ongaku no Hi’ started back in 2011 after the Great Tohoku Earthquake with the concept “Let’s spread energy across Japan by gathering the power of music and song!” This will be TBS’ 5th year broadcasting the program, and it will be a special project commemorating the 60th anniversary since their establishment.
The show aired on 27th June 2015 for some 8hours and a total of 50 artistes performed.

Sandaime J Soul Brothers from EXILE TRIBE will be releasing their new single “Summer Madness” on 8th July 2015.
This is a collaboration with music producer DJ Afrojack, who produced the song’s sound after getting excited seeing J Soul Brothers’ performance in a live tour in 2014.
The lyrics and tune is also produced by STY, the same guy behind J Soul Brothers’ hits “R.Y.U.S.E.I” and “S.A.K.U.R.A.”.
Being image models for Air Nippon Airway’s summer advertising campaign, the guys filmed their MV at ANA’s hangar in Osaka International Airport, creating a impressionable clubbing scene infront of an airbus.
