Since 2015 is coming to an end, i might as well conclude with the Top 10 headlines of the year. These articles are ranked according to their viewership. Articles from 2014 and earlier have been left out.

This scandal was published in June 2015 and i guess the huge picture of Yukirin and Tegoshi, arms wrapped around each other, was a huge shock. No proper news sources would report it (for Yahoo it took a few days before article was posted) but the story was already all over the Internet. Though both parties remained largely silent, to this date, we’re still getting epilogues on the mysterious relationship between Yukirin and Tegoshi.

3. Back Number sings OST theme for drama “5-ji kara 9-ji made”
This comes in as a surprise because i had no idea “5-ji kara 9-ji made” would be so successful internationally. I’ve had readers asking me for titles of tracks which i had no idea of. But no worries, CDJapan now has the OST for sale!

4.  Kisumai Fujigaya Taisuke revealed to be dating Miori Takimoto for years
I seldom post about Kisumai let alone Fujigaya so the spike in numbers for this was quite surprising. I guess Kisumai is really huge, or there could be much more shippers of the couple from “Ikemen Desu Ne” that i’m aware of.

This article ended up being published in a Japanese matome kinda site for 48 fans, and for some reason they’d misquoted the facts. So if you read the matome sites, please be aware that not all info passed around there is TRUE.

Yamamoto Koji clarifies reports about his courtship of Horikita Maki

Yamamoto Koji once again speaks out about Horikita Maki, whom he married in a flash after “zero days of dating”.

It seems like the 40 “love letters” he gave her were actually advice about acting for their stage play “Wuthering Heights”, and in the process of writing them his love for her deepened.

The “miracle meeting and proposal on shinkansen” story wasn’t entirely true either, as he’d phoned her on the previous day to check out her arrival time in Kyoto, which allowed him to gauge her boarding time from Tokyo. However he calls it a miracle because they managed to meetup despite boarding from different stations.

About the supposed proposal on the train, he said “It wasn’t a proposal. I bought a cute ring for her but i thought it might be burdensome so i didn’t give it in the end.”

Horikita Maki mentions Yamamoto Koji in promotions for new drama

Actress Horikita Maki will be helming the Nihon TV renzoku drama “Higanbana~Keshicho Sousa 7 ka~” airing January next year. This is her first drama after getting married to actor Yamamoto Koji in August this year.

“Renzoku drama schedules are tough but my husband is also doing it, so it isn’t harder than before.”

She acts as a detective who has the special ability to hear remaining voices from a crime scene. In the drama, she has a sharp tongued character. She said “In real life I also speak without mincing my words. If there’s something i dislike i’d grumble about it to my husband.”

“I hope people can express their thoughts happily without having to mince their words,” she appealed.

Horikita Maki and her shoujo manga ending with Yamamoto Koji

Actress Horikita Maki(26)’s lightning marriage to Yamamoto Koji(38) is still receiving much attention in the media. A couple days back, Yamamoto appeared on TV and revealed details of his courtship. He confesses that they practically didn’t date and just went straight into marriage.

The 2 met in 2009 drama “Atashinchi no Danshi”. He had feelings for her and asked for her number, but got her agency’s number instead. In 2010, they paired up again as husband and wife for “Wagaya no Rekishi”. This time he invited her out for drinks but got rejected.After that, he’d show up at Horikita Maki’s stage plays to hand her a letter with the words “It’s time for you to tell me your cellphone number?” Horikita continued with her silent treatment.

In 2012, Horikita Maki was filming for NHK drama “Umechan Sensei”. Yamamoto was filming NHK Taiga “Kiyomori” in the studio next to her. He’d pop in to Horikita’s studio every day, only to hear her say “Can you please stop coming?”

This year, the 2 were confirmed to star alongside each other as lovers in stage play “Wuthering Heights”. Having been rejected for 6 years straight, Yamamoto had considered whether he was good enough for Horikita but was never discouraged. He continued to send her letters everyday, with the number amounting to about 40. As usual, Horikita did not reply.

The stage play was ending. “At least let me give you my number” he thought and passed her his contacts. That night, a message came through via LINE.

Horikita: You’ve worked hard.
Yamamoto: Who is this?
Horikita: Maki dayo.

After that, Yamomoto heard about Horikita going to Kyoto via bullet train. “By intuition i took the bullet train as well. If she’s riding it too then it’d be a miracle or fate,”he said. Boarding the train from Tokyo Station, he ‘miraculously’ met Horikita who was boarding from Shinagawa Station. Yamamoto then handed a ring packed with his feelings to Horikita, and proposed. “Instead of dating, lets get married.”

In another article today, it is said that Horikita has always wanted to get married and have her own kids. She had been in a relationship with another guy up till Spring this year, but they did not reach a consensus to get married so they broke up.

Her shocking announcement this time seems to have stemmed from her hopes for a family.

[Breaking]Horikita Maki gets married to Koji Yamamoto after 3 months of dating!

Actress Horikita Maki(26) and Yamamoto Koji(38) got married on the 22nd August, as reported by their agencies. The 2 met each other 6 years ago and co-starred as lovers in a stage play this May. They apparently fell in love and started dating in June, co-habiting in August and officially submitted the marriage papers today. Horikita is not pregnant and will continue her work.

According to a related personnel, after the stage play ended in June, Yamamoto who had been interested in Horikita in the past invited her out for a meal. That started the relationship.

Horikita Maki had revealed her ideal type in May, right before Yamamoto as they promoted the stage play together. “I’d like to get married to a person I like. I prefer a stable relationship,” she said.

On Yamamoto, Horikita said “He’s a kind person who helps me to find a solution when i’m worried over my acting.”

In response, he praised “She does things properly so there’s no need for me to be worried.”
