Yamapi has distanced himself from Akanishi Troop?

20 Aug

Last year, the “Akanishi Troop” consisting Akanishi Jin, Nishikido Ryo and Yamashita Tomohisa amongst others caused controversy after stealing/destroying a cellphone from someone during a night out in Roppongi. The case was settled after a large amount of settlement money was paid to the victim. However, Yamashita, who seems to have taken most responsibility for it by apologising through the media, is said to have distanced himself from the group.

According to a entertainment writer, it seems like Johnny’s jimusho has served Yamapi with the ultimatum to break off relations with Akanishi. This statement was published in the 18th Aug version of Shukan Jousei.

The Akanishi Troop takes an annual trip overseas to strengthen their unity. Last year, they went to Singapore but Yamashita did not tag along.

In June this year, the members held a birthday party but Yamapi did not show up as well.

“If it were the Yamapi before this incident, this would not happen. This is how strong his feelings for Akanishi is like,” says the entertainment writer.

In another article, Yamapi is said to be hanging out with actors Ayano Go, Sato Takeru, Miura Shohei lately.

Ayano Go and Yamapi were introduced to each other by Yamada Takayuki 4 years ago. Both hit it off and go drinking till daybreak. Miura and Yamapi were introduced by Ito Hideaki. Both have co-starred with Ito Hideaki and see him as a big brother.

“He also frequents a gay bar and goes there once a week. There was a fireworks festival along Sumida River at the end of July and he rented a boat with the regulars of that bar to see it,” says acquaintance of Yamapi.

AKB48 Minegishi Minami and Kashiwagi Yuki unveil their English skills in Yamapi’s TV show

14 Jul

“YamaP no Kiss Eigo” -a TV show which aims to improve Japanese people’s English in a fun manner, pranked AKB48 Minegishi Minami and Kashiwagi Yuki in last week’s episode, bringing their English skills to light. In the show, a foreigner speaking English would call up the girls, pretending to have found their manager’s/friend’s phone. See how each of them reacted below.

Minegishi and her love for the word “slave”

Minegishi Minami appears to be quite flustered at first but quickly understood that her manager had lost his/her phone. When the foreigner was asking about the owner of the phone however, Minegishi shocked everyone by saying it belongs to her “slave”. She triple confirmed this statement, drawing laughter from everyone. The conversation reached a roadblock when they were discussing to meet. Minegishi could not understand the question “What are you wearing?” and had to request for “Kids’ English”. When describing her job as an AKB48 member, Minegishi also described it as a “slave”.

Minegishi later confessed that she thought “slave” was a word meant for someone respectable, and that she had learnt it from Akimoto Yasushi’s lyrics.

Kashiwagi and her gross misinterpretation of the word “this”

Minegishi Minami was asked to nominate another member to prank. The MC requested specifically for Kashiwagi Yuki(due to her scandal), noting that it is a special moment since both Johnny’s and AKB48 members are in the same room when they are making the call to her.

Kashiwagi did not get the foreigner’s words initially and thought “this” was “busu”(japanese word for someone ugly).  Their conversation was so focused on the word “this” that Yukirin thought she had found 1 ugly person. She forgot about this word later and miraculously understood that Minegishi had lost her phone. Their conversation progressed well with Yukirin replying mostly in Japanese, prompting the MC to describe her as a obaasan(probably cos only youngsters would reply in English).

When the prank was explained to Kashiwagi, the MC asked her if she was feeling irritated since she kept mentioning “busu”. Perhaps this was a subtle hint at her scandal but Yukirin deflected it by saying she’ll continue shopping.

Yamashita Tomohisa mentions Ikuta Toma while promoting for Kinkyori Renai

19 Oct

Yamashita Tomohisa appeared on PON! in early October to promote his movie Kinkyori Renai, which has been doing well in the theaters(ranked No.2 in the opening week). He answered some personal questions from the MCs and also revealed his baby photos. While most of his answers should be nothing new to older Yamapi fans, some who have questioned the status of his friendship with Ikuta Toma will be happy to know that they are still as close as ever!

Q: What do you do to maintain your body?
I often visit the gym to train.

Q: What food are you into recently?
Curry. I’ve liked it since middle school. During the 3 years in high school, other eating ramen twice, I was having curry the rest of the time.

Q: Even though i look like this, actually i’m XXX.
Actually i’m bad with waking up in the morning.

Q: How do you relieve your stress?

Q: Who are you closest to in Johnnys?
Ikuta Toma

Q: Recall an episode with Ikuta Toma recently?
We went drinking.

Q:When is the moment when you feel like you’ve returned to your natural self?
When i get home and sit on the sofa.

Q:What do you do when you return home?
I switch on the TV.

Q: What is the most embarrassing thing that happened so far?
Right now when 3 cameras are pointing at me.

Q: What do you do on your day off?
I go for drives or to the cinema.

Q: What’s your weakness?
Getting complimented.

Q:If you could only eat this thing once in your whole life, what would it be?

Q:What is your motivation for learning English?
I wasn’t able to speak properly during an Asia concert, so i thought i’d properly speak it next time.

Q: Tell us your feelings of appearing on PON in English.
This program is so special!

And another reason why i posted this video is because Mariko sama is also in it…i wonder what she was feeling!

Also, there is footage of a special guest appearance from Katori Shingo, who co-starred with Yamashita in last year’s drama “the MONSTERS” and the music video of his collaboration song with Kis-My-Ft2′s Fujigaya Taisuke, “NEXTACTION feat. Fujigaya Taisuke (Kis-My-Ft2)”.

Below is the music video of his collaboration with Fujigaya Taisuke.

This song featuring Fujigaya is one of the nicer songs from Yamapi in quite a long while…can even see some badass expression on his face this time.

Performances from FNS Music Festival 2014

14 Aug

On August 13th, Fuji TV aired their annual summer music show, FNS Uta no Natsu Matsuri. This year’s show features artistes such as Yamashita Tomohisa, Kis-My-Fts, SMAP, Momoiro Clover Z, 48groups, WaT and more. Check out the official site for the full lineup.

Highlights of the show include:

  • Theme song of FujiTV drama “Wakamono Tachi”  (Tsumabuki, Eita from the drama also showed up)
  • Yamashita Tomohisa‘s new song “Hello” from upcoming album
  • Japanese version of “Love is an open door” from movie Frozen

wakamono tachi
Moriyama Naotaro – Wakamono tachi
I’m watching this drama so i loved it when this song was performed. And the bonus in seeing Eita/Tsumabuki singing along shoulder to shoulder!!!*Kyaa*

Yamashita Tomohisa x Hata Motohiro – Hello
I liked the CD version but the live is quite boring.Well, credits to Yamapi for trying to keep the mood high though.

Japanese version of “Love is an open door” in a stage play setting. It was definitely one of the more well-received performances of the night, judging from the cheers.

SMAP x Suga Shikao x Yamapi x Kis-My-Ft2 – Yoru Sora no Mukou
One nostalgic SMAP song and nice solo from Kimura and his guitar

Kis-My-Ft2 – Another Future

Kis-My-Ft2 x T.M. Revolution – High Pressure

Yuzu x Sandaime J Soul Brothers – Natsu iro

Yuzu x Sandaime J Soul Brothers – Hanabi

Nishino Kana – Watashi tachi

Momoiro Clover Z/ Ebichu/ Team Shachihoko – Nana iro no Stardust
I don’t follow these idols but this song is quite nice and their vocals seem to be better than the 48groups?!

AKB48 – Heavy Rotation (Kawaei Rina center)
Kawaei makes a great center for this song! That’s the most Yuko-like solo dance i’ve ever seen, and that solo line at the end was pitch perfect! (even better than Yuko hehe)

AKB48 x WaT x Naoto Inti Raymi – The world is ours!
I chose to post this song cos of WaT. How long have they been missing from the music industry?! Teppei looks as cute as ever…the 48girls are so lucky!

AKB48 – Kokoro no Placard
To be honest this perf is horrible.I wouldn’t blame it that much on the live singing. It was more of the band and that weak trumpet solo in the middle which totally destroyed the whole song.

NMB48 – Nagiichi

SKE48 – Bukiyou Taiyou
Rather emotionless singing for such a beautiful song..

I hate to say this but she’s really exposing her flaws in singing this time. Tomochin should just stick to her dance numbers and lip sync!
