[AKB48 Sousenkyo]HKT48 Sashihara feigns tears and begs fans not to ditch AKB48

18 Jun

“Because of these incidents(outdoor concert cancellation), the AKB now is losing trust and i’m really afraid of fans leaving. With my friend graduating, i’m really worried about the future. We will work hard so pls don’t ditch AKB!”

Warning: Ending part is a ‘lets give this a touching ending’ skit but in fact it will make your skin crawl

I’m disgusted with yet another superficial speech from Sashihara. The problem with AKB doesn’t begin with a concert cancellation or a gradation. Of cos, what would she know when she doesn’t even see the problems with herself?

AKB48 General Elections 2017 will be the coldest event in history

AKB48「第9回選抜総選挙」荒天の場合、無観客で開催へ…指原莉乃「怒りで複雑です」

In summary, due to likelihood of thunderstorms the concert is canceled.

Fans with a ticket will not even be allowed to watch off-stage as the voting results are revealed, because obviously the management could not scramble in time to find another venue to fit everyone. The members will hold their ranking ceremony in private and the results will be streamed live on TV/in 48 theaters.

Apparently hotels in Okinawa are nearly full due to Sousenkyo! Poor folks!

Highlights of AKB48 General Elections 2017 in Akimoto Yasushi’s own words

30 May

Excerpt from an article that was published on 28th May 2017.

I was asked about the highlights of this year, but wouldn’t the fans know better?I asked a few fans, indeed the biggest attention will be whether HKT48’s Sashihara would win again this year. Besides the exposure on TV, the declaration of it being her last Sousenkyo makes us question if this would be a beautiful ending. Another question is, how would Yamamoto Sayaka’s withdrawal from the event affect the results? It is said that only Yamamoto can topple Sashihara, but her withdrawal shocked the fans. But we can’t simply deduce that Sashihara’s win is definite. It’s said that a new AKB48 won’t be born if Sashihara isn’t toppled, so the conservative fans are banding together despite being in different camps. It seems like they are amassing votes for orthodox idol Watanabe Mayu who also happens to have announced this being her last Sousenkyo. In other words, starting from votes from Yamamoto Sayaka and Kashiwagi Yuki, this time too, those fans who are wishing for the return of the years when AKB48 were orthodox idols, are raising “anti-Sashihara” votes.

Also, the united SKE48 fans might also concentrate fully on Matsui Jurina and bring her the win. Miyawaki Sakura’s growth is also something to look forward to.

Source

Akimoto san, you don’t need the votes to tell you how much we miss the original AKB48. The number of fans who have left already says it all.

That said, the new AKB48 single will be released tomorrow and if you sincerely believe that voting will change AKB48 for the better, pls vote for Watanabe Mayu becos she = AKB48.

esults here: http://sousenkyo.akb48.co.jp/result.php

My passion for 48Group is running dry, so i think i will leave it to other sites to do their translations.
If you’re interested in what happened in the Sousenkyo, can checkout some brief translation notes in my Live Chat.

I really appreciate those who follow my site every year during this time. (Although the number is decreasing drastically.) It’s still always nice when some pop by to say they were here last year. Thanks and maybe we’ll see each other again.

AKB48 General Elections 2016: A look at China fans’ crowdfunding campaigns

18 Jun

Do not copy and paste/screencap/extract any part of this post in forums/blogs/SNS/other sites. Especially for those on Tumblr, Stage48, Onehallyu, Twitter. Thanks for cooperating.

このページの内容は、他 の Webサ イト(特にまとめサイト)や印刷媒体、その他の記録媒体等において、複製、改変、翻案など をする ことは 禁止 し ま す。ご協力ありがとうございます。

Just a teaser before results are announced later tonight.

I’ve only looked at votes for the Kami7 level members and have ranked them according to how much their fans have raised so far. Note that these funds is not all-inclusive since there may be campaigns which run independently elsewhere, and there will be fans who choose to vote/donate in private.

Please do not read if you think it’s going to be spoilers.

7.Nyan Nyan Kamen

Final Votes: 2362
Last year: None
Kojiharu c-fans are quite enthusiastic, however they have difficulty getting bulk amounts of cheap votes. Otherwise i believe she’d be getting much more support than this.

Source

6.Yamamoto Sayaka

Final Votes: 8386
Last year: 4647
Some increase from last year!

Source

5.Miyawaki Sakura

Final Votes: 12,602
Last year: 12,591
Despite the huge push she’s received the past year, her chinese votes hasn’t increased at all.

Source

4.Shimazaki Haruka

Final Votes: 14,303
Last year: 12,675
With Paruru’s absence in AKB activities the past year, her fans are eager to prove that they are still around and rooting her on. Their fundraising activities are the most transparent of all fanbases, with reporting done to the last $0.01. Not surprising that her votes increased as this is also apparently her “last” sousenkyo.

Source

3.Kashiwagi Yuki

Final Votes: 16,064
Last year: 38,000
The boost of enthusiasm from last year(when Yukirin announced her ambitions for No.1) is now gone, for reasons we can imagine. Yukirin will probably be fighting with Jurina for the No.3 spot.

Source

2.Sashihara Rino

Final Votes:18,100
Last year: 14,046
Her Japanese Fanclub admin actually predicted that there will be a huge gap in votes in China. However, he/she has also very confidently announced that at least 220,000 votes has been secured domestically.

Update: Only 800 people participated in China’s crowdfunding, but on average each person put in 22 votes. Like the rumors suggest, her fans are rich – and putting it in their own words, “aggressive” and “maniacs”.

Source

1.Watanabe Mayu

Final Votes:51,716
Last year: ~34,000
Above amount is contributed from 4,000 fans, and on average each person contributed 13 votes. There’s probably at least 1,600 votes from another independent seller and more from other fanclubs in Taiwan, Hong Kong, SE Asia. If we consider global popularity, Mayu is easily the Queen of Group48.

0.Matsui Jurina
Final Votes: 27,000???
Last year: 15,200 (interim figure with no final report)
Somehow they did not put out an official report, and 27,000 is just a reported figure i saw somewhere. So pls do not take it seriously.

AKB48 Sousenkyo 2016: How to Vote

4 Jun

Decided to write a tutorial for those who are voting this year. This tutorial is translated from what the Chinese fans wrote up, so take away what you can.

Before voting
Change to a Japan I.P address on your mobile phone, if you want to be 100% sure your vote goes through.

To do that, download a VPN app from Appstore/Playstore and do necessary settings to change your I.P address. You can double-check your I.P address here.

(C-fans advise against using your computer as this may result in the vote not going through.)

Begin Voting

IMG_7678
Step 1: Access the voting URL. You will see 2 boxes, just click on the right side which I highlighted in Red. This side allows you to search by Team.

AKB48 to perform regularly in Universal Studios Japan this summer

4 Jun

AKB48 Group will be holding regular shows in Universal Studios Japan this summer, from 21st July to 4th September.

The shows will feature senbatsu members of the 48 Groups – AKB48, HKT48, NMB48 and NGT48 and they will perform their hit songs.

If you are visiting USJ this summer and don’t mind spending a huge chunk of money on these shows, here’s the calendar schedule on their official website.

Tickets to these shows are not included in the entrance tickets. Tickets cost 9,900 yen (about $91.50) if bought in advance with a studio pass included and 3,000 yen (about $28) on the same day.

If i had the fortune to visit USJ,i’d invest my time on Harry Potter World instead…

AllThingsJpop Top 10 headlines of the year

23 Dec

Since 2015 is coming to an end, i might as well conclude with the Top 10 headlines of the year. These articles are ranked according to their viewership. Articles from 2014 and earlier have been left out.

1. Bunshun leaks pictures of AKB48 Kashiwagi Yuki and NEWS Tegoshi Yuya..a Hakone date?
This scandal was published in June 2015 and i guess the huge picture of Yukirin and Tegoshi, arms wrapped around each other, was a huge shock. No proper news sources would report it (for Yahoo it took a few days before article was posted) but the story was already all over the Internet. Though both parties remained largely silent, to this date, we’re still getting epilogues on the mysterious relationship between Yukirin and Tegoshi.

2. AKB48 2015 Senbatsu Sousenkyo ~Unpredictable Rankings, The Tumultuous Night~: Final Results

3. Back Number sings OST theme for drama “5-ji kara 9-ji made”
This comes in as a surprise because i had no idea “5-ji kara 9-ji made” would be so successful internationally. I’ve had readers asking me for titles of tracks which i had no idea of. But no worries, CDJapan now has the OST for sale!

4.  Kisumai Fujigaya Taisuke revealed to be dating Miori Takimoto for years
I seldom post about Kisumai let alone Fujigaya so the spike in numbers for this was quite surprising. I guess Kisumai is really huge, or there could be much more shippers of the couple from “Ikemen Desu Ne” that i’m aware of.

5. AKB48 General Elections 2015: Final look at China fans’ campaigns
This article ended up being published in a Japanese matome kinda site for 48 fans, and for some reason they’d misquoted the facts. So if you read the matome sites, please be aware that not all info passed around there is TRUE.

6. Horikita Maki gets married to Koji Yamamoto after 3 months of dating!
Title is enough to let everyone’s jaws drop in shock. Their love story is even juicier.

7. Tanaki Koki sends Taguchi message of support and talks about life after KAT-TUN
I would actually rank this way higher because it was just published. Surprised that people are still interested in Koki.

Thanks to everyone for supporting my site this year! There are busier days ahead and i won’t be posting regularly but i’ll be here when there’s important news! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Chief Producer of NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen explains reasons for dropping artistes

1 Dec

Last year, AKB48 Group had all 4 of their domestic groups appearing in the annual year end show. However, SKE48 and HKT48 were dropped from the lineup for this year. According to an interview with chief producer of the show, he explained “We came to this decision based on 3 factors – the results of this year’s activities, public opinion and performance concept.”

Momoiro Clover Z,also one of the idol groups dropped from this year’s lineup, has since announced their graduation from Kouhaku. “We will in our own way, walk our path with everyone.” They also promised a huge countdown live for this year.

Reactions from dropped artistes

HKT48 Sashihara Rino on Twitter: “We cried. Just a bit, but it seems like next year will be fun!”
In a followup tweet, she said “It’s frustrating! It seems like fans will just tell us to work hard for next year, but pls don’t (laugh)”

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu: “I didn’t make it into the lineup this year, but it’s not the time to be sad! I will work hard.

Nishiuchi Mariya, who had hopes of making her first appearance said: “I’m sorry, it’s frustrating! I had my expectations too high. I will write more songs and open a concert first.”

Source

SKE48 Oya Masana: “It’s regretful to be dropped, but SKE48 will restart from now.”
SKE48 Matsui Jurina: “I don’t want to SKE48 to shy away from this. Whatever difficulties we face, I want to overcome it with everyone.”

Source

I thought that NMB48 didn’t deserve to be in the lineup as well, but some reports are saying that they were given the spot thanks to Sayanee singing NHK’s asadora theme song.
